1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between In The Making (“we”, “us”, “our”) and any person booking or attending one of our workshops or events (“you”, “your”). By booking or attending an event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

2. Booking and Payment

2.1 All bookings must be made online through our booking system.
2.2 Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
2.3 No booking or administrative fees apply.
2.4 Your booking is not transferable without our prior written consent.

 

3. Cancellations and Refunds

3.1 You may cancel your booking up to two (2) weeks before the scheduled workshop date for a full refund.
3.2 If you wish to cancel less than two weeks before your workshop, we will attempt to fill your space. If the space is filled, a refund will be issued; if not, no refund will be available.
3.3 If we need to cancel a workshop for any reason (including illness, unforeseen circumstances, or insufficient numbers), you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.
3.4 Refunds will be processed via the original payment method.

 

4. Attendance and Participant Requirements

4.1 Our workshops are designed for adults. Participants must be at least 15 years of age.
4.2 Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who remains present for the duration of the workshop.
4.3 Participants attend at their own risk and must follow all safety instructions provided by us.
4.4 Our studio is located on an upper floor and is not accessible by lift. Please ensure you are able to access the venue before booking.
4.5 We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any person from a workshop for any reason, including (but not limited to) disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behaviour. No refund will be given in such cases.

 

5. Health and Safety

5.1 We carry out risk assessments for all activities and take appropriate measures to ensure participant safety.
5.2 Activities may involve the use of sharp tools (such as scissors and lino cutters) and materials such as paints and inks.
5.3 While we provide aprons, you are responsible for your own clothing and personal belongings. We accept no liability for damage to or staining of clothing, footwear, or accessories.
5.4 By attending a workshop, you acknowledge that you participate voluntarily and are responsible for your own health and safety during the event.
5.5 We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained while attending a workshop, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

 

6. Property and Damage

6.1 You are responsible for any damage you cause to our premises, equipment, or materials beyond reasonable wear and tear.
6.2 You agree to pay the reasonable cost of repair or replacement for any such damage.
6.3 You are responsible for taking home any items you create during the workshop. We do not offer storage for finished works and accept no liability for items left behind.

 

7. Ownership of Work

7.1 You retain full ownership and copyright of any artwork or item you create during our workshops.
7.2 You may use your creations for personal or commercial purposes without restriction.

 

8. Photography and Marketing

8.1 We may take photographs or short videos during workshops for use in marketing materials, social media, or our website.
8.2 By attending, you consent to being included in such photographs or recordings.
8.3 If you prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please notify us at the start of your workshop and we will make every effort to exclude you.

 

9. Conduct and Behaviour

9.1 We aim to provide a friendly, welcoming, and safe environment.
9.2 We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask any participant to leave if their behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate.
9.3 No refund will be issued if you are asked to leave under this clause.

 

10. Force Majeure

10.1 We shall not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance, of any obligation under these Terms that is caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
10.2 Such events include (but are not limited to) power failures, transport disruptions, illness, fire, flood, or other natural disasters.

 

11. Liability

11.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
11.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all other liability for loss, damage, or injury, whether direct or indirect, arising from or in connection with your attendance at any workshop or use of our premises or materials.

 

12. Data Protection

12.1 We collect and process personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws (including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018).
12.2 We will only use your personal data for the purposes of managing your booking, providing our services, and (where you have consented) sending marketing communications.
12.3 We will never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
